In 1973 he began studying sculpture at the San Alejandro Academy of Fine Arts, graduating in 1977. Later that same year he began his studies in the specialty of sculpture at the Instituto Superior de Arte (ISA) in Cuba.
He has shown his personal work in Cuba and abroad. He has large-format sculptural works that have been placed in Cuban cities, as well as in Japan, Spain and Venezuela.
